Oregon's image of a state with vast fog, rain, verdant forests and rugged Pacific coast is what most people enjoy about this beautiful state. But Oregon has a dry side--and its big and equally as beautiful in its own ways. What was once a desert-like environment has been transformed into thousands of square miles of rolling hills covered by wheat. Agriculture, both dry farming and through irrigation, has dramatically transformed large parts of eastern Oregon--but there's still a wild side where dramatic cliffs and canyons dominate the landscape.
